Job Title: General Manager – Full Time. In-House Only, Monday-Friday in our Irvine, Ca. Headquarters. 

Reports To: President

Pay Range: $85,000+ depending on experience.

Company: Three Sixteen Publishing exists to create God-honoring Christian resources rooted in the truths of John 3:16, 2 Timothy 3:16, and Colossians 3:16. We publish high-quality Bibles (Legacy Standard Bible and NASB 1995 editions), children’s resources through Green Egg Media, and inspirational paper and stationery products through Bella Scriptura. Our mission is to equip the Church with Christ-centered materials that deepen faith, encourage families, and glorify God.

Job Description: The General Manager serves as the primary operational leader of 316 Publishing, responsible for overseeing day-to-day business functions, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring the organization achieves its financial, editorial, and mission-driven goals. Reporting directly to the President, the GM will lead cross-functional teams and serve as a key decision-maker. Candidate must have both an understanding of the Evangelical culture and be conversant in it, since the largest target market for our resources is a conservative Christian audience.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

    • Oversee all daily operations across editorial, marketing, sales, finance, and production departments.
    • Develop and implement operational policies, systems, and processes to maximize efficiency and quality.
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and hold teams accountable to measurable results.

Financial Management

    • Manage budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure profitability and fiscal health.
    • Identify revenue opportunities and cost-saving measures to drive sustainable growth.
    • Partner with finance staff to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance.

Team Development

    • Recruit, develop, and retain a talented team aligned with 316 Publishing's values and vision.
    • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that encourages innovation and accountability
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide mentorship and professional development opportunities.

Strategic Growth

    • Collaborate with executive leadership to define and execute the company's long-term strategic plan.
    • Evaluate market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities in the publishing industry.
    • Build and maintain key partnerships with authors, distributors, retailers, and industry stakeholders.

Publishing Operations

    • Assist in the publishing lifecycle—acquisitions, production, marketing, sales, and fulfillment.
    • Ensure editorial quality standards are upheld across all titles and imprints.
    • Manage relationships with printers, distributors, and digital platform partners.

Qualifications:

Required

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Publishing, Communications, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of senior management or general management experience, preferably in publishing, media, or a related industry.
    • Proven track record of leading teams and achieving business goals in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, P&L management, and reporting.
    • Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day operations.

Preferred

    • Experience in Christian, faith-based, or values-driven publishing.
    • Familiarity with digital publishing platforms, eBook distribution, and emerging content formats.
    • Existing relationships within the publishing, retail, or distribution ecosystem.
