A Call to Discipleship
A disciple is a learner and someone who receives instruction. Jesus taught His disciples both formally and informally as He interacted with them. This same idea was emphasized by the apostle Paul who wrote in 1 Corinthians 4:16, “Therefore I exhort you, be imitators of me” and in 1 Corinthians 11:1 where he says, “Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.”
Mature Christian women have much to offer their younger Christian sisters. Through their commitment to study Scripture and their faithfulness in living it, they model to younger women how to live a godly Christian life. Older godly women, especially having lived through the daily challenges of being a wife, mother, and woman of faith in an increasingly corrupt society, can offer biblical wisdom and counsel that younger women in our churches so desperately need.
This booklet defines Christian discipleship and outlines what, where, when, and how to put it into practice. Discover what author Susan J. Heck knows firsthand: “There is no greater joy than to disciple younger women and to watch them grow and walk in the truth!”
